Mother's Day Weekend- 2007

Rocke and I were invited to spend Mother's Day weekend in The Dalles with Michael and Sylvia. We didn't plan any activities, just a weekend for me to enjoy spending some time with Rocke, Michael and Sylvia.

We drove over late on Saturday morning, May 12th. Sylvia was working, so Rocke and I enjoyed spending some time visiting with Michael. By the time Sylvia arrived home from work, we were all ready for some pizza.

On Sunday morning, Sylvia, Michael, Rocke and I went to Home Depot, so Sylvia could pick out some horizontal blinds for their slider door in the dining area. While we were there, Sylvia and Michael ordered some custom blinds for their kitchen window, which would arrive in about three weeks.

Rocke had driven our pickup to Home Depot, so once the blinds were purchased, Michael and Rocke returned back home while Sylvia and I went shopping to get some groceries for Mother's Day Cookout. By the time Sylvia and I got back home, Rocke and Michael were just putting the finish touches to the slider door blind installed. The door off the kitchen faces south and get all the morning sun, so having the blinds installed before summer would go a long way to keeping the air conditioning bill at a minimum.

Later that afternoon, Sylvia and Michael got busy readying equipment and food for the cookout. We had a delicious meal of fajitas A fajita (pronounced "fa-he-tah") is a generic term used in Tex-Mex cuisine, referring to grilled meat served on a flour or corn tortilla. They had all the fixins to go with the fajitas and for dessert, a delicious Strawberry Cheese Cake.

With the cookout over and a great time had by all, it was time for Rocke and I to return home, so we could get ready for another busy work week.
