OATMEAL BROWN SUGAR COOKIES

Beat together:

2 eggs
1 cup Dark Brown Sugar - packed well - 8 oz
1 cup White Sugar - 8 oz
1 cup shortening - 8 oz
2 Tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons Vanilla

Part 2:

2 cups of sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon each - Nutmeg, Cinnamon
¼ teaspoon each - Ginger, Cloves

Sprinkle some flour over Raisins and nuts to coat (Nuts & Raisins, 1 or both. You use what you have - or none - Use about 1 cups Raisins and 2/3 cups Nuts chopped)

Add dry ingredients and nuts and Raisins to first part. Mix together (This is too thick for Beater)
Add 2 cups Quick Oats

Bake at 350 or 375 degrees about 10 - 12 minutes

The real secret of this is to add 1/2 cup brown sugar at the last and just lightly stir in.

Also chocolate can go in for a change.
Use any candied and dried fruit in place of raisins.
