STEW & DUMPLINGS

1 lb. stew meat, cut into 1 inch cubes
1 Tbsp chopped onions
1 Tbsp cooking oil
2 beef bouillon cubes
3 - 4 large carrots, chopped
2 -3 celery sticks, chopped
2 potatoes, cubed
1 bay leaf
1 sm can tomato sauce
dash Worcestershire Sauce
salt and pepper to taste

Place stew meat into plastic bag with flour and shake until all pieces are covered. Heat oil in large pot, add floured meat and onions. Brown meat on all sides. Dissolve bouillon cubes in 2 cups hot water, add to stew meat. Simmer on low heat for several hours (3 to 5); stir occasionally. Add more water, if necessary. Don't let it get dry.

Add vegetables, bay leaf, Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, salt and pepper; cook on low heat until vegetables are almost tender, stirring occasionally.

Make dumplings following recipe on Bisquick box. Add to stew in small spoonfuls and cook 10 minutes uncovered; cover and cook additional 10 minutes.
