The Wedding - June 15th, 2002

Mary and I were married on June 15th, 2002! We had a small wedding with family and a few friends.

We were married in a small historical church in Sellwood (suburb of Portland, Oregon). The church has a total seating capacity of only 75! A beautiful church complete with stained glass windows, old organ, wooden benches and potbelly stove.

Robin, Rocke's son was his best man. Syliva, Mary's daughter-in-law was her matron of honor. Erin, our grand-daughter was the cutest little flower girl any one would want in their wedding. Mary's sons, Ricky and Michael could not give their mother away, so they give the blessing of her marriage to Rocke.

Mary and Rocke, were proud to have Rocke's two sons, Ryan (Trumpet) and Ross (Saxaphone) play the music for our wedding. Barbara Roessner, a very dear friend of the family, accompanied them on piano. We wanted the wedding to be a family affair and it was such a joy to have our children included and be a part of our "special" day!

We decided to have the wedding reception in our home, as we felt it would be more informal and comfortable for everyone to visit with each other. After the ceremony, we all went back to our home for food, cake, etc. We were fortunate to have family members help with the reception. They went tothe house after the wedding to put out the food, drink, etc., and make sure everything was in place and ready for our family and friends to enjoy the reception. We don't know what we would have done without them!

At this celebration of our life together, our family and friends, added to our happiness in a very special way, by finding the time in their busy lives to be with us. They will always be apart of our memories to treasure.
